Epics and Myths from the Ancient World is an innovative module designed for first year undergraduates who are interested to examine great texts from ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Israel, and Greece under three themes: creation and order, suffering and meaning, and epic journeys. Students then have the opportunity to create their own artefact: an image, a series of photos, or even a sculpture that adopts themes from one or more of our ancient texts to engage with contemporary issues affecting society. This culminates in an exhibition, where students can display their work publicly.
